Hey, I'm Jed, the person behind Passionate About Dogs.

I'm based in Bournemouth, and dogs have been a huge part of my life for over ten years now, particularly sighthounds. If you know the breed, you'll know they're fast, intelligent, and fiercely independent, which also makes them some of the hardest dogs to train properly.

But everything I do today really started from one moment.

Why Passionate About Dogs exists

A few years ago, my dog was attacked and killed. He was two years old.

It's not something you ever expect to happen, and it's not something you forget. That experience forced me to take a hard look at dog ownership, training, and responsibility, not just in others, but in myself too.

From that point on, I made a decision. I wasn't going to be passive anymore. I wasn't going to hope for the best on walks. And I wasn't going to rely on surface-level training. I wanted real understanding, real control, and real reliability, the kind that holds up in the environments where it actually matters, not just in a living room.

Passionate About Dogs was built from that.

My approach

There's a lot of noise in the dog world, trends, conflicting advice, quick fixes that don't last. That's not what I do.

My approach comes down to a few things that don't change: clear communication, so your dog understands exactly what's expected of them; consistency, because behaviour doesn't improve without it; and real-world application, not just theory. A dog needs a leader, not guesswork.

Most dog owners don't actually have a "bad dog." What they usually have is unclear structure, inconsistent training, and too much freedom given too soon. Fix that, and everything else tends to follow.
